Suitable for:
This nationally recognised qualification is aimed at those who wish to increase their understanding of and involvement with children with disabilities.
The course develops strong knowledge and skills about inclusive learning practices for children with disabilites and an understanding about a wide range of disbilities and their impact upon learning and social development.
Participants will become skilled in the practices and processes needed to support the broad development of children with disabilities both academically and emotionally.
Career Opportunities:
Occupational titles may include teacher aide, teacher assistant, education assistant (special needs), education support worker or home tutor.

Recognition:
This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
Selection Criteria:
An interview will be conducted to ensure that applicants possess the motivation to complete the course and have an aptitude for working with students with special needs.
Course Length:
Two days per week over 14 weeks.

Tuesday and Thursday
9:30am - 3:00pm
7 February - 17 May 2012
Assessment:
Assessments are undertaken using a variety of methods including observation, written assignments/projects, case studies, scenarios, role plays, oral/written questioning and work placement tasks.
